Accounts & Registration

How do I create an account?

Click the "Start Writing" or "Sign In" button on the homepage. You can register using your email address, or sign up instantly with Google or GitHub OAuth.

Is Sonic Writers free?

Yes! Creating an account, reading stories, and publishing your own work is completely free. We may introduce optional premium features in the future, but core platform functionality will always remain free.

Can I delete my account?

Yes, you can delete your account at any time through your Settings page. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed within 30 days. Your published stories may remain visible but will be anonymized.

Can I change my username?

Currently, usernames are set during registration and cannot be changed. You can update your display name in Settings to show a different name publicly.

I forgot my password. How do I reset it?

Click "Forgot Password" on the login page. Enter your email address, and we'll send you a password reset link.

Reading Stories

Do I need an account to read stories?

No. Anyone can browse and read published stories on Sonic Writers without creating an account. However, you'll need an account to like, comment, bookmark stories, or follow authors.

How do I find stories I might like?

You can browse stories by genre on the Feed page, search by title or keyword, or check out trending and featured stories on the homepage.

Can I download stories to read offline?

This feature is not currently available but is on our roadmap for future development.

How do I bookmark a story to read later?

Click the bookmark icon on any story page. Your saved stories will appear in your Bookmarks section accessible from the navigation menu.

Publishing Stories

How do I publish a story?

Click the "Write" button in the top navigation bar. Use our built-in editor to write your story, add a title and description, choose a genre, and optionally add a cover image. When ready, click "Publish."

What is the chapter system?

Stories can be organized into chapters for serialized publication. You can add chapters as you write, making it easy to publish long-form fiction in installments. Each chapter has its own title and content.

Who owns the rights to my stories?

You do. You retain full copyright ownership of everything you publish on Sonic Writers. By publishing, you grant us a license to display your content on the platform, but you maintain all rights to your work.

Can I edit or delete my story after publishing?

Yes. You can edit or delete your stories at any time from your Library page.

Is there a word limit?

There is no strict word limit for individual stories or chapters. However, for optimal reading experience, we recommend chapters between 1,500 and 5,000 words.

Content & Moderation

What types of stories are allowed?

We accept original fiction in the following genres: Horror, Crime, Mystery, Thriller, Fantasy, Romance, Sci-Fi, and Adventure. We also welcome non-fiction about the craft of writing. See our Community Guidelines for detailed content policies.

Can I use AI to help write my stories?

AI-assisted writing is permitted if clearly disclosed in the story description. Passing AI-generated content off as fully human-written is discouraged and violates our commitment to authentic creative expression.

How do I report inappropriate content or behavior?

Use the report feature on individual stories or comments. For urgent issues, email support@sonicscriptelite.com.

What happens if someone steals my story?

If you believe your copyrighted work has been posted without authorization, please follow our DMCA takedown procedure to request removal.

Language Support

What languages does Sonic Writers support?

Currently, Sonic Writers supports four languages: English, Arabic (with full RTL support), French, and Spanish. You can switch languages using the globe icon in the navigation bar.

Can I publish stories in languages other than English?

Yes! You can publish stories in any of our supported languages.

Will my story be translated automatically?

No. Translations are not automatic. If you want your story available in multiple languages, you would need to provide translated versions yourself.

Privacy & Security

What information does Sonic Writers collect?

We collect the information you provide during registration (email, username) and usage data (pages visited, stories read). For complete details, see our Privacy Policy.

Is my data safe?

Yes. We use industry-standard security measures including data encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), hashed password storage, and row-level security on our database.

Does Sonic Writers sell my data?

No. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We use Google AdSense for advertising, which may use cookies for personalized advertising.

How do I request deletion of my data?

You can delete your account through Settings, which removes your personal data within 30 days. For additional data requests, contact privacy@sonicscriptelite.com.

Technical Issues

The platform isn't loading properly. What should I do?

Try clearing your browser cache and cookies, disabling browser extensions, or trying a different browser. If the issue persists, contact support.

Which browsers are supported?

Sonic Writers supports the latest versions of Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, and Microsoft Edge.

Can I use Sonic Writers on mobile?

Yes! The platform is fully responsive and works on smartphones and tablets.
